In 1981, Patrice Fontaine began his commercial activities by purchasing "Monuments Daudelin". In acquiring this family-owned business, he perpetuated their tradition. The Maskoutan company, which specialized in the sale of funerary monuments as well as building elements made of granite, was established in 1895.
In 1987, the creation of "Groupe William Inc." gave way to new possibilities. By acquiring a Sherbrooke cutting plant, whose main activities were polishing and finishing granite, the company made way to the development of a wooden and granite furniture division as well as a construction division. This division operated under the name of "Granite William Inc.", thus ensuring the company a share of this maket.
The year 1998 inaugurated a period of changes. The organization expanded its activities in the market of upholstered furniture. Deciding to diversify the activities led to the construction of a manufacturing complex in Saint-Hyacinthe. A head office grouping both divisions (furniture and granite), a plant manufacturing high-end upholstrered furniture and a showroom were set up under the same roof.
Afterwards, a thorough market analysis allowed the organization to introduce an effective strategic plan which allowed "William Millénaire Inc." to develop nationally and internationally.
In 2003, "William Millénaire Inc.", the furniture division of the company, concluded that its association with famous designers contributed to its positionning throughout North America as the leader in its field with creations of urban and avant-gardist style. |
